The Kostroma Region annually produces about 150 graduates for the timber industry. However, according to the regional department of education and science, every third graduate does not enter the profession, while there is a heightened demand for skilled staff in the timber sector. For example, a giant plywood mill being under construction in Galich needs several hundred timber experts.

The project is aimed at creating an environment for professional growth of young people in the Kostroma Region taking into account personal interests, special needs and priorities of developing the regional timber sector, and increasing the motivation of young people in the Kostroma Region to work by professions and specialisations that are much in demand in the regional timber sector.
The intended social outcomes of the project include career development and employment of social beneficiaries in timber companies of the Kostroma Region.
Over the next three years, the Sistema Foundation as an investor and service provider will provide Kostroma Region students with career guidance and job search assistance based on their received education.
The project will address the regional brain drain, and Segezha Group (part of Sistema) is to recruit adequately trained, highly motivated employees.
